I work for a company that is contracted by the us government and have not recieved training or a real manual. The office is filled with people who are completely ignorant of well, just about everything and I do not want to be fired. However, this just doesn't seem right.
Let's just assume for sake of arguement its costing 1 billion dollars a day, and that 3% profit is 3 million (cause not all of that 1 billion goes to contractors). Let's assume that this war in Iraq and the occupation are illegal and only done so that government can fund these contractor projects. We've lost 4000 soliders or will by end of 2007. How about instead of these illegal wars and occupations of other countries, the politicans can have 30-40 million dollars a day, they can give this money to their friends, This not only saves US taxpayers about 960-970 million dollars a day, but we'll not have to lose any US soliders. What do you think.
Doesn't it seem that this big move to outsource government work is just a way to get more patronage jobs for the Companies that pay big $$$$ in campaign donations. Seems like the government is not saving any money. they sure are not getting competent workers. Heck just look at the guy with the Superbug TB, he was on the watch list and a contractor working the candian border lets him through. the list goes on.
I will be doing some contract work at an Airport in Afghanistan for a 12 month term. I wanted to ask those who have done government contract work overseas what the living conditons would be like. In Afghanistan particularly...I already know of the harsh weather conditions...I just want to know if I will have my own room and privacy and what I would be able to do recreationally in that country. THANKS! please reply to this queston only if you have first hand experiance of the living conditions overseas as a contractor...thank you
